I call Tammy 'my gorgeous girl' because that is just what she is. There's just something beautiful about her bubbly and down-to-earth disposition that didn't go astray as she set on the path of creating the wedding of her dreams. You know you've got something going when our meetings felt more like catchups between girlfriends over lattes as we swooned over her carefully curated Pinterest boards.
An acutely visual and creative person herself, Tammy had some amazing ideas for the big day, and her main man Tim, whom she met at work, was more than happy for us to look after all the styling aspects. I met Tim for the very first time on their wedding day and bore witness to the adoration they have for each other. In the presence of friends and family gathered at the Werribee Mansion's formal gardens, Tim could barely contain his emotions as Tammy made her way down the aisle. At the end of the day, this really is what it's all about.
Tammy tapped into just about everything that represented One Wedding Wish. Naturally beautiful styling is our distinct hallmark, and as always, Werribee Mansion never fails to come to the party with its picturesque surrounds and an astute customer service team who bend over backwards to make it all happen.
Tammy's wedding style wishlist included earthy tones, rustic yet timeless elements. The sanctity of the occasion was no doubt the priority, but just as important for the couple was room for a bit of fun. The Welcome Sign is a classic example of the couple's light-heartedness. There is an underlying sense of the past, present and future in the design of areas such as the welcome table, the centrepieces, and the cosy outdoor 'entertainer's space' at the back of the Pavilion. We awashed the long dining tables with mismatched clear and blue recycled jars as well as brown apothecary bottles housing blooms in neutral tones.
How often have you seen placecards discarded as soon as guests find their seats? Well, not here! Placecards doubled as little message cards guests could use to leave messages for the couple. They are then dropped into numbered jars (used as table numbers!) and kept away, only to be opened and read on the wedding anniversary year that corresponds with the table number. Something special for Mr and Mrs Meilak to look forward to over the next couple of years!
The One Wedding Wish team had a blast bringing this gorgeous wedding to life, but it is, and always has been, the couples themselves that make it all worthwhile. Thank you Tammy and Tim for believing in us, and letting us share the One Wedding Wish experience with you. I wish you both the happiest days ahead. xoxo Joanie
In the words of Mr and Mrs Tammy and Tim Meilak ~
I'm not even sure where to start, I had been looking at your blog for months waiting to book my reception venue so I could finally call and see if you could style our wedding. I was absolutely gutted when I found out that you wouldn't be available to do my wedding. I lived vicariously though my work mate Nicole Broom whose wedding you were styling in December, asking her how your meetings were, what you both had planned, etc. Can you imagine my delight when a few months later you called me saying you could style my wedding afterall!!!! There was jumping on chairs in the office (I think everyone thought I won the lotto!), calls made immediately to husband-to-be, family and friends ~ I couldn't contain my excitement!!! Joanie, from the minute we spoke I felt we clicked, you didn't treat me as other suppliers would as a client. You treated me as a friend, a bride, a VIP!
What makes you so special is not only the fact you're extremely talented but also that you look at styling as a experience. Everything we created had a bigger meaning and really captured Tim and myself. I loved how you weren't scared to push the boundaries, how you wanted to do something no one had seen before. Our catchups were my favourite part of the whole wedding planning experience they always when way longer than we estimated because we were having too much fun.
Joanie, thank you doesn't feel like enough. You blew me away on the wedding day, I was so excited to see it all come together. I can't recommend you highly enough. Thank you so much for sharing such a special experience with us and creating such a beautiful memory for Tim, myself and our guests. We had so many people comment saying it was the best wedding they have ever seen (I bet you hear that a lot but it's true).
Love always Tammy and Tim Meilak

Autumn is officially upon us, but Summer was determined to stay just a little longer on Marylyn and Edison's wedding day. Blessed with an afternoon of friendly clouds over Werribee Mansion's formal Parterre garden blooming in its full glory, Marylyn and Edison exchanged vows before their closest family and friends. One Wedding Wish is honoured to work alongside a great team of suppliers including Chateau Photography and Preface Films to make this special day a reality, and unanimously, we agree that Marylyn and Edison are simply the loveliest of couples!
Marilyn with her singular weakness for le petit macaron, asked for a display of these little treats in as many flavours as we could fit on the table. We were glad to oblige!
Over in the Pavilion, a fusion of East and West can be observed via the elegant culture-inspired undertones and casual styling to reflect the relaxed afternoon celebration. A big thank you to our partner in floral design, Flowers of Canterbury for the pretty centrepieces and bouquets.
Marylyn's truly gorgeous four-tier wedding cake from French Lettuce made an elegant statement. Outside on the lawn, garden bench settings invited guests to take their time and bask in the sun. The couple gave each guest colourful Japanese tea tins filled with herbal and fruit-infused tea leaves.
With Ed traveling internationally weeks at a time and Marilyn's new job and workload, we are humbled that they chose us to help them put together this small, but truly heartfelt family-orientated wedding affair. We wish Marylyn and Edison fabulous days ahead!
