Wedding Style Profile - Olivia and Justin

We feel so privileged to have been asked to style Olivia and Justin's wedding at Bella Vedere, Coldstream. A wonderfully intimate affair embraced by family and friends from near and as far as the UK, a fine feast prepared by the renowned Executive Chef Gary Cooper, it was as perfect a celebration as Olivia and Justin envisioned it to be. Let this Wedding Style Profile take you on a romantic journey of this genuinely beautiful and warm-hearted couple.

Coming to Bella Vedere feels like coming home. Its backyard vegetable garden is one you wish your veggie patch at home could be, if only you put in as much love and attention as the chefs do. From the ground straight onto your plate, it's no wonder food at Bella Vedere is amplified of sweetness and flavour. Love its rustic surrounds and message of sustainability and harmony with nature.

Olivia and Justin's pretty vanilla cupcake tower came from The Cupcake Queens. We finished it beautifully with delicate pale pink roses and a topper of fresh flowers. I particularly love the hand-written menus signed off by the chef himself - a nice touch.

In the name of unique wedding experiences, I can't think of a sweeter bridal entrance than one that takes a bride and her father through a path of herbs and vegetables, under a makeshift archway of creeping foliage before appearing in the centre of the garden, amongst zucchinis and pumpkins, where her groom and cherished friends and family patiently await. Olivia looked picture perfect, her best accessory being the amazing smile she carried with her through the day.

My stowaway little red coffee pot makes another cameo appearance - it somehow always finds its way into our decor list, for a pop of colour if nothing else.

Olivia and Justin shared their story with me of a special connection when they first met in London many years ago, perhaps even before they knew it themselves. However much time may have passed, it was obvious Justin wasn't going to let this gorgeous lady out of his sight! Love grew and brought them to Australia, and a commitment forever forged when they welcomed Oscar into their world - a darling little boy who lights up any room and anyone he sets his sparkling blue eyes upon!

Our brief from the outset was to work with the venue - to enchance rather than to change - something we always aim for. Olivia loves birdcages, so on a backdrop of creepers, we extended the rusticity of the deck with hanging wrought iron birdcages filled with fresh garden roses and moss.

For guest tables, One Wedding Wish displayed lace-wrapped jars of fresh flowers featuring roses, snowberries, lisianthus and dahlia and lace-wrapped tealights finished with string. The bridal table featured leatherbound books, birch candle holders and a white coffee pot with pretty pastel blooms.

John Warren did a great job capturing the essence of this special day - have a look at this slideshow of beautiful images!
A very special thank you to Sarah and Olivia for all your efforts, and to Nat and Cobi at Flowers of Canterbury for the bride's bouquet.
It was truly a pleasure for myself and the One Wedding Wish team to help bring Olivia and Justin's wedding dreams to life. To be there with our couples to celebrate the beginning of the next exciting phase in their lives is something special for us. Thank you Olivia and Justin. Wish you both and Oscar beautiful days ahead. xox, Joanie

What better way to rejoice the receding shadows of Winter than with a Spring-themed Wedding Style Profile!
Hibernation is officially over!
Christine and Marcus approached One Wedding Wish for Planning, Styling and Coordination just twelve weeks before their wedding day, and boy did we get straight to work! I am so grateful to work alongside truly a dream team of suppliers who exuded no less than their utmost professionalism, passion and creativity no matter the task at hand. It is through all their incredible efforts that one deliriously-in-love couple’s wedding dreams were realised that day.
Thank you Leonda by the Yarra for the use of your gorgeous versatile spaces, Erin, Tom, Judy and your team for your support and attention to detail all the way through. We also had the absolute pleasure of working with Santo and Ferry, artful cinematographers of Paper Cranes who flew down from Sydney to capture this special day. Looking forward to working with you both again in December! Julian of Serendipity Photography was meticulous, devoting his every attention to what he does best.
We’re so excited to showcase our most elaborate Wishing Tree / Welcome Table to date, custom designed exclusively for Christine and Marcus.
Born continents apart and meeting by chance, destiny would have them find comfort and completeness within each other. With that in mind, I set out to create something that inspired both their love of travel and love of home.

I fell in love with this 2-metre long, exposed timber Provincial-style dining table and decided it would be the perfect, visually-captivating piece for Leonda’s front entrance.
For the Wishing Tree, we embellished a large mirror base and vase with more than 400 fresh roses in beige, pink blush, white and old gold, and used glass bells to display our gorgeous Wishing Tags. Encased inside these bells were ‘a few of my favourite things!’. Over my travels to the US this year I carefully brought home two delicate natural vine birds’ nests, each with three blue robin eggs tucked snugly inside. Aren’t they simply gorgeous!?
The 1.1-metre tall white birdcage wishing well needed no introduction!
Standing gorgeous and glorious with stems of white Singapore orchids individually attached, guests dropped gold envelopes filled with blessings and money, perfect for the couple’s new life ahead.

You can trust the wedding planner to be partial to a good chinwag, and one of the things I do enjoy is getting to know the couple’s family and friends. As they say, you are the company you keep and how lovely they all were indeed!
From the sumptuous 5-course dinner, to getting shutter-silly inside a Vintage Photobooth, right down to the grand finale as the couple sailed away on a romantic boat ride from Leonda Jetty, everyone agreed they had an absolutely fabulous time!
Christine and Marcus, I wish you both beautiful days ahead! Joanie xox
